Senior Software Engineer
Datavant operates the largest connector of identified and de-identified health data in the world, turning fragmented data into intelligence that drives action and impact for our customers.
- Designed and delivered multi-dataset query functionality for clean room environments, enabling analysis of multiterabyte-scale datasets without data movement; partnered with security stakeholders and presented architecture to NIH for approval.
- Led design and implementation of privacy controls for a natural language-driven PySpark query interface, enforcing output constraints to reduce reidentification risk.
- Developed customer-facing documentation for Clean Room features and workflows and provided live customer support, incorporating feedback to improve usability and reduce support overhead.
- Implemented a Snowflake Native App for tokenization, enabling in-place processing and eliminating the need to move sensitive data.

- Built feature for progressively hiding chat threads that violate terms of service.
- Audit feasibility of adding a new participant type (page) to group chat threads.
- Add ability for pages to participate and perform admin actions in group chat threads. Specifically allowing pages to invite and be invited to a thread, route chat notifications to admins of the page, and log required data for our data scientists.
- Add the ability for pages to feature public channels on their profile.
- Experimented with adding a shortcut to the about page from a user’s profile details. Preliminary results indicate a 7% increase in public channel daily active users.

- Created a unique artist catalog by overhauling the UI for capturing artist metadata and deduping the existing artist catalog.

- Provided clients transparency into campaign performance by aggregating millions of events a day into a personalized analytics dashboard.
- Streamlined our onboarding process by decoupling integrations with obsolete authentication systems.
- Designed and created a user authentication system and migrated all our users.
- Created a template system to decrease the time between onboarding and when a client creates their first campaign.
- Modernized platform by creating UI based on Material design written with React and Redux. Replaced old monolithic code with microservices that were easier to maintain.
